Using coach tools on a phone
The coach portal can open the mobile coach experience using your current sign-in, so you can move from desktop work to phone-friendly tools without signing in again.
Who this guide is for
This guide is for signed-in coaches using the coach portal on a computer, tablet, or phone.
What you can do
- Open mobile coach tools from the coach portal.
- Use the phone-friendly coach dashboard inside a desktop or tablet browser.
- Read and send coach-family messages, including seeing unread message counts.
- Open the installed app when using a supported phone.
- Follow a family-activity alert into the relevant coach area.
Open the mobile coach experience
- Sign in to the coach portal.
- Open Mobile web from the coach navigation.
- On a computer or tablet, the mobile experience opens inside the portal.
- On a phone, the portal first tries to open the installed app.
- If the installed app is unavailable, wait briefly for the browser version to open instead.
The embedded experience uses your current coach-portal session. It does not ask you to enter your password again during a normal hand-off. If the embedded screen finishes loading before the portal's first sign-in message arrives, it automatically requests the session again.
Open an activity alert
When you follow an activity alert from the coach portal, the browser-based mobile experience can open at the related coach section.
If the installed phone app opens at its main coach screen instead, use its notifications area to find the activity.
Things to know
- Only coach sections can be opened through the coach portal's mobile view.
- The browser-based mobile experience uses the same coach messaging access as the installed app. Owner View as coach also uses the selected coach's ordinary messaging permissions.
- Opening the mobile experience does not change your family access or permissions.
- Some features still need an internet connection even when the mobile screen is already open.
- Account recovery and password changes remain in the main sign-in experience.
- Reloading the mobile view may take a moment while your coach session is restored automatically.
If something goes wrong
- If the phone app does not open, wait for the browser version to appear.
- If the mobile view asks you to sign in, return to the coach portal, confirm that your session is active, and open it again.
- If the view is blank after a reload, close it and reopen Mobile web from the coach navigation.
- If a requested section says you do not have access, confirm that your practice membership and family access are still active.
- If the layout is the wrong height after rotating your phone, rotate it back or reopen the page.

If the phone app cannot open
In the next native app update, families and coaches who cannot get past startup can tap Try again. The app also retries a failed startup when they return to the app or the connection returns. A saved compatible copy still opens offline.
If the problem continues, send support the code shown on the error screen. View / copy diagnostic details opens text that you can touch and hold to copy; Share diagnostic details opens the phone's share sheet. These controls work before login and without opening the app's usual report form. Details can be shared without internet; automatic delivery waits until the server is reachable. The details describe app startup and do not include your password or baby notes. Do not delete the app as the first troubleshooting step: keep local information available while support investigates. This improvement requires the native store update; an automatic web-content update alone cannot add it.
If your connection returns while the app is already trying to reconnect, it remembers to try again after the short retry delay. Diagnostic details include the failed download code and app content version to help support investigate.
