Subscriptions and premium access

Subscriptions unlock premium features such as Analysis. Families can subscribe through the mobile app or receive sponsored access from a coach. Coaches manage their own client-sharing plan in the coach portal.

Who this guide is for

  • Families buying, restoring or managing premium access.
  • Families whose premium access is provided by a coach.
  • Coaches starting or managing a practice subscription.
  • The platform owner reviewing coach and family acquisition.

What remains available without premium

You can continue to use Family Home, baby profiles, activity histories and all seven care trackers without premium. Features marked as premium, including Analysis, become unavailable when access ends.

For families: buy premium access

Family plans are offered only when Premium is not already included with the account. Coach accounts using their own family tracker, and families with active manual or practice access, do not need a separate store subscription and do not see new-purchase controls. They can use Check for an existing purchase if they were charged previously and need the app to reconnect that purchase; this check cannot start a new subscription.

  1. Open Subscription or Access from the family menu.
  2. Review the monthly and yearly choices.
  3. Select a plan and continue through the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase screen.
  4. Wait for the app to confirm that premium is active before leaving the screen.

The store shows the final local price and whether a trial is available to your store account. Those store details take precedence over any general price shown in the app.

A real purchase must be completed in the supported phone app. A normal web browser may show plans, but it cannot complete or verify a mobile-store purchase.

Restore a family purchase

Use Restore purchase when you already subscribed with the current store account but premium is not shown in the app.

  1. Make sure the phone is signed in to the Apple or Google account used for the purchase.
  2. Open the family subscription screen.
  3. Choose Restore purchase and wait for verification.

If no active purchase is found, check the store account and subscription status before trying again.

Manage or cancel a family subscription

Open the store-management option from the subscription screen. Apple or Google controls renewals and cancellations; cancelling in the store normally keeps access active until the paid period ends.

When a family store subscription is already active, the screen shows management instead of another plan purchase. If a coach account already has a family store subscription as well as included personal-tracker access, the screen warns that the store subscription may still renew and provides the management option without offering another purchase.

Connecting to a coach does not automatically cancel a family store subscription. See Connect a family with a coach.

Coach-sponsored family access

An eligible coach invitation can include premium access for the supported family. The family access screen shows where premium access comes from and any relevant end date.

When normal coach support ends, coach access ends immediately but the family usually receives a seven-day premium grace period. Tracking stays available during and after the grace period. The family can choose a direct plan to keep premium features.

The affected family receives an in-app banner explaining that coach support has finished and Premium features such as Analysis remain available for the rest of the seven-day grace period. A supported current phone app can also show a push alert when notifications are enabled. When that week finishes, a second notice links to the subscription plans. The second prompt does not appear if Premium has already continued through an extension, a new coach, a direct family plan or a sponsored-practice policy.

If the coach's billing becomes inactive, the family keeps ordinary activity tracking but coach-sponsored Premium features become temporarily unavailable. The Access screen labels this Coach Premium paused and explains that the coach's subscription needs attention. Opening Analysis shows the same explanation, confirms that tracking still works and offers the family monthly or yearly subscription choices if they want to restore Premium themselves. The family does not see an internal billing status code or the coach's private invoice details.

For coaches: start or manage a plan

  1. Sign in to the coach web portal and open Subscription.
  2. Review the available monthly, six-month and yearly choices.
  3. Choose a plan and complete the secure checkout.
  4. Return to the portal and wait for the active status to appear.

If checkout was started but not finished, the portal may offer a way to return to it. Active subscribers can use the billing portal to manage payment details and subscriptions.

The coach mobile screen shows status and sends you to the web portal for billing. Coach billing is not completed inside the mobile app.

If a coach renewal payment fails

Littles does not stop coach access after the first unsuccessful renewal. Stripe may retry the payment up to three times:

  • after the first and second failed attempts, coach access remains available while the payment is retried;
  • the Subscription screen shows the attempt number, the next retry when Stripe supplies one, and the seven-day grace deadline; and
  • after the third failed attempt, or when seven days have passed since the first failure, coach access is paused until billing is resolved.

The coach receives both an email and a push alert for each failed attempt, provided email delivery is available and notifications are enabled on a registered device. Each message links to Subscription. Choose Pay outstanding invoice to open Stripe's secure invoice page, enter or select a card, and complete any bank confirmation. Changing the saved card under Manage subscription does not immediately retry the current invoice, so use Pay outstanding invoice when access must be restored now. If the seven-day grace deadline ends before the third attempt, Subscription explains that access is paused while a Stripe-scheduled retry may still be pending. A successful payment clears the failed-attempt state and restores the normal active status. If Stripe has already canceled the subscription, it cannot be reopened and a new subscription must be started.

Founding offer before 1 September 2026

Until 1 September 2026, a new coach subscription includes Premium at the founding prices:

Cadence Founding price
Monthly £15.99 each month
Six-monthly £71.99 every 6 months
Yearly £128.99 each year

The Subscription screen highlights this live offer. It also shows the future Standard and Premium choices in muted, unavailable cards so you can compare what launches on 1 September:

Plan from 1 September Monthly 6 months Yearly
Standard £15.99 £71.99 £128.99
Premium £19.99 £88.99 £161.99

Both plans include unlimited active clients. Premium also includes practice branding and coach-family in-app messaging. Branding is available now; messaging is labelled Beta while it is being refined. Before 1 September, selecting a cadence subscribes you to Founding Member Premium; the future cards cannot be selected yet.

Standard practice owners and administrators can open Branding from the account menu to see a clearly labelled example and the benefits of Premium. View Premium upgrade options opens Subscription with Premium options highlighted. This does not start a payment: review the upgrade price and renewal terms before confirming. After the platform confirms eligible Premium access, Open Branding takes you to the editor. Coaches without practice-management permission see a role message, because upgrading does not grant that role. See Organisation branding and personalisation.

Founding members keep Premium at their protected price while that Stripe subscription continues, including normal renewal and supported changes to a longer billing cadence. In other words, all Premium features are included at no extra cost for as long as the founding subscription remains continuous. If you cancel, Premium continues only through the paid access date and the founding promise does not switch renewal back on. Only a separately confirmed plan upgrade can reactivate renewal, and the estimate warns you before that happens. If the subscription ends and you subscribe again later, the current Standard or Premium prices apply. This promise is connected to the continuous subscription, not an email address or a reusable discount code.

The eligible first 30 days for £5 offer still applies. Before 1 September it renews onto Founding Member Premium at the selected cadence. From 1 September, it renews onto the selected Standard or Premium plan. Checkout always shows the £5 due immediately and the exact later recurring amount before payment. If the offer expires or changes while the Subscription page is open, choosing the £5 offer asks you to refresh and does not open an ordinary-price Checkout under the £5 offer button.

Starting coach Checkout is protected against duplicate subscriptions. Returning to the same still-open plan and cadence reuses the existing Stripe link; choosing a different option while that link is open asks you to finish or resolve the first attempt. If a Stripe subscription is already linked but is past due or suspended, a replacement Checkout is not opened: use the existing billing portal or contact support. Manual access and a Stripe subscription that has fully ended as Canceled do not prevent a later new Checkout.

Upgrade an active coach plan

An active Stripe subscriber who is not in the £5 introductory period can move to a longer billing cadence from Subscription in the coach web portal:

  • a monthly plan can move to six-monthly or yearly; and
  • a six-monthly plan can move to yearly.

Choose the longer cadence to request an estimate. Subscription shows Stripe's exact new-period charge, including credit for unused time in the current billing period. Review that estimate and confirm in the portal. If Stripe needs payment authentication, the portal sends you to the secure Stripe invoice page. Refresh Subscription and use the status and billing dates shown there as confirmation of the result.

The longer plan begins on the confirmation date. For example, confirming a yearly upgrade on 5 August starts the year on 5 August, rather than backdating it to the date the previous six-month plan began. Stripe charges the new yearly price, subtracts the displayed unused-time credit and sets the next yearly renewal from the confirmation date.

The portal does not offer a shorter cadence from this upgrade control. Contact support for an exceptional downgrade or another billing change. Coaches in the paid £5 introductory period continue with the plan and cadence chosen at their original checkout and cannot use this control until recurring billing begins. If cancellation was already scheduled, the estimate warns that completing the longer-plan upgrade will reactivate renewal. A pending or failed payment leaves the existing cancellation in place.

Founding members keep the founding prices available to their existing subscription, including when they choose a longer cadence. A later Premium catalogue for new subscribers does not move a founding member onto those new prices. Founding access and Premium features are determined by the trusted subscription record, not a browser label or a changed Stripe product name.

Cancel a coach plan

Open the coach subscription area, choose the cancellation option and confirm. When cancellation is scheduled for the end of the billing period, the screen shows how long access continues and that it will not renew.

For the platform owner: review the subscription outlook

Open Revenue in the owner portal and find Subscription outlook. The outlook is divided into Family, Coaches and Total sections so current subscriptions and conditional forecasts are easier to compare.

The Family section shows the number of families, paid family subscriptions, trialing families and current Family MRR. Post-trial family MRR is the full projected family total: current family MRR plus the list-price value of current trials if they convert.

The Coaches section shows the number of coaches, paid coach subscriptions, active £5 offers and current Coach MRR. Post-offer coach MRR is the full projected coach total: current coach MRR plus the list-price renewal value of active £5 offers. Becca and Nikos each have a current coach-MRR card and a post-offer coach-MRR card using the same 60%/40% base split.

The Total section keeps Total MRR (current coach and family MRR only) separate from Estimated total MRR, which combines:

  • MRR from active paying coach and family subscriptions;
  • the additional post-offer coach forecast if active £5 introductory offers renew onto their selected plans; and
  • the additional post-trial family forecast if active family store trials convert to paid plans.

All of these values use list prices. They are forecasts, not current billed or collected cash, and do not subtract provider fees, tax, refunds or the platform operating reserve. Family trial forecasts are not included in the Becca/Nikos coach split because those cards describe coach MRR only.

For the platform owner: identify coach memberships

Open Coaches or Revenue in the owner portal and use the Membership column to distinguish Founding member, Premium and Standard access. This label is resolved by the platform from the trusted subscription rather than guessed from the price, cadence or coach name.

No active membership means the recorded subscription does not currently grant coach access. If an inactive record has a recognised previous plan, the row also shows that last recorded plan. Unclassified membership means access is active but the stored plan cannot be matched to the current catalogue and should be reviewed. During a staggered release, the new owner portal shows Membership unavailable until the updated API response is serving.

Manual legacy access can retain Premium capabilities, but it is shown as Premium, not as a paid Founding member. A founding label is reserved for a qualifying, continuous Stripe founding subscription. Subscription status remains visible separately, including trialing, past-due grace, scheduled cancellation and cancellation.

For the platform owner: review scheduled coach cancellations

Open Coaches or Revenue in the owner portal. A coach who has cancelled but still has paid access remains Active until the cancellation date. Their existing billing cadence, such as Monthly, remains visible and the row adds Cancels followed by the date.

This means the subscription is usable until that date but will not renew again. After Stripe reports the end of the subscription, the status changes to Canceled.

On Coaches, the Subscription risks section lists active or trialing coaches with more than five days of recorded inactivity. Every risk card also shows the coach's Billing period (monthly, six-monthly, yearly or another recorded cadence) and when the Current cycle ends. Not recorded appears when older subscription data has no cadence or period-end value. A cycle-end date does not by itself mean the plan will renew; use the separate Cancels date when cancellation has been scheduled.

For the platform owner: review family trial performance

Open Revenue in the owner portal and find Trial conversion funnel. This section focuses only on production family store trials and shows:

  • Trials started — unique families with a recorded trial;
  • Converted to paying — trial families that later reached a paid store period;
  • Cancelled before paying — families whose trial is set not to renew or ended without a paid period;
  • Pending trials — active trials that are still set to renew; and
  • Ending next 14 days — current trial access with an end date in the next two weeks.

The conversion percentage uses completed trials only, so pending trials are not counted as either success or failure. The two-week bar chart always shows all 14 rolling 24-hour periods from the report time, including periods with no trial endings. Gold bars are pending trials still set to renew; red bars are trials cancelled before renewal. Hover over a bar for its exact time window and counts.

A cancelled trial may still appear in the exact schedule below the chart when the family keeps access until the store-reported trial end. The row is labelled Cancelled and Ends without renewal; a trial still set to renew is labelled Pending. The schedule identifies the family, exact trial end, monthly or yearly plan and Apple App Store or Google Play provider. The renewal label is the latest store intent, not a guarantee that the future payment will succeed.

Sandbox/test purchases are excluded. The section is available only to the genuine platform owner and uses the trusted platform billing API rather than reading store or Supabase data in the browser.

For the platform owner: review coach trial and introductory performance

Open Revenue in the owner portal and find Coach conversion funnel. This section follows unique coaches from either of two clearly labelled starting points:

  • an Owner-granted free trial, which is genuine free manual access; or
  • a Paid £5 introductory period, where £5 has already been charged for the first 30 days.

Coach trial and introductory periods run for 30 days. The £5 period is not a free trial, even though Stripe uses a trialing subscription state to delay the normal recurring charge. The summary shows Periods started, Reached recurring billing, Ended before recurring billing, Pending outcome, and Ending next 30 days. Its conversion percentage uses completed outcomes only and does not treat an active pending period as a success or failure. The ending forecast covers the full coach trial duration.

The bar chart always shows all 30 rolling 24-hour periods without horizontal scrolling, including days with no endings. Every date remains visible in the chart. Gold means a £5 introductory period is currently expected to move to its selected recurring plan. Red means the period is ending without recurring renewal or, for an owner-granted trial, that the coach must complete normal checkout to continue.

The exact schedule identifies the coach, organization, period type, expected outcome, end time and selected cadence. Recurring plan is current renewal intent, not a guarantee that payment will succeed. Needs checkout means an owner-granted trial does not renew automatically. Sandbox Stripe records are excluded, and only the genuine platform owner can view this trusted billing report.

The Coach cancellations section below the funnel is broader than the trial report. It counts current production Stripe cancellations for all coaches, including coaches already in recurring billing. It separates subscriptions that have already ended from subscriptions scheduled to cancel at their current billing boundary, and shows whether each cancellation happened during the trial/introduction stage or during recurring billing. Sandbox and manual access records are excluded.

For the platform owner: view acquisition

Open Revenue in the owner portal and find Acquisition. Use Coaches or Families to switch the graph between the two audiences. First choose the registration range:

  • All time starts with the earliest registered coach or family;
  • Last 30 days includes today and the preceding 29 UTC days;
  • Last week includes today and the preceding 6 UTC days; or
  • Custom range lets you enter inclusive start and end dates, then select Apply range.

Use Days, Months or Quarters independently to group the selected range. A monthly or quarterly point represents registrations from that UTC calendar period that fall inside the selected range. Changing these controls refreshes only the graph, not the rest of the Revenue page.

The lines accumulate people from the start of the selected window. They show:

  • Registration only — the person registered but no production subscription has been recorded for them; and
  • Subscribed — the solid green line counts people whose production subscription is currently active, excluding trials; and
  • Subscribed + trialing — the dashed green line counts the same active subscribers plus people currently trialing. It is therefore always equal to or above the solid green line.

Select any legend item below the graph to hide its line. Select it again to show the line. A hidden item appears faded and crossed out. The Y-axis scale and the remaining lines automatically redraw to fit the traces that are still visible.

The graph always fits the available panel width and does not require horizontal scrolling. The Visible chart range slider below the graph has separate start and end handles. It initially includes every point returned by the selected All time, Last 30 days, Last week or Custom range request. Drag either handle to show a smaller slice of those already-fetched points; this does not make another API request. The x-axis labels and plotted points update to the visible slice, while the Y-axis recalculates from the values in that slice and the traces that remain enabled. Fetching a different range or grouping resets the slider to include all newly returned points.

Hover over a point to see the exact day, month or quarter and its cumulative Registration only, Subscribed and Subscribed + trialing totals. The same information is available by moving keyboard focus to a point. If the selected range cannot be loaded, the existing graph remains visible and an error asks you to try again.

The totals above the graph show registrations, registration-only users and currently subscribed users within the selected window. Subscribed is already included in Subscribed + trialing, so do not add the two figures together. Canceled, expired or past-due historical subscribers are not shown in either green line, and they do not return to Registration only; for that reason, the three visible traces do not necessarily add up to Registrations. Coach manual access and all sandbox/test subscriptions are excluded. This is a registration-cohort view: people appear at the day, month or quarter when they originally registered, not when cash was received. For a migrated account, the period comes from the registration/import date stored by the platform and may not be the person's original legacy-app signup date.

When Families is selected, How families heard about us appears for the selected registration range. It groups the optional answer given during family registration, including From my sleep coach, Prefer not to say, and Unknown for skipped or historical answers. Source reporting waits until a UTC day is complete. If any answer group on that day has fewer than five registrations, the whole day's source breakdown is folded into a generic Suppressed for privacy row without its source, exact count or share; another group may also be hidden so the total cannot reveal a small answer by subtraction. Other remains a controlled group; the owner's report does not show the person's written explanation or identify a coach.

For the platform owner: review daily active users

Open Analytics in the owner portal and find Daily active users to compare observed activity and session starts for all users, families and coaches. Select any label below either graph to hide that line; select it again to restore the line. Each graph adjusts its vertical scale to the lines that remain visible, which makes a smaller family or coach trace easier to inspect after a larger total trace is hidden. A crossed-out label means that line is currently hidden. These controls change only the graph in your browser and do not change the report data or filters.

For the platform owner: understand coach engagement

Open Analytics in the owner portal and find Coach engagement. Choose a 7, 30 or 90 day window to see how many coaches were active, how regularly they returned, which app they used, and the most- and least-recently active coach accounts. The report includes active coaches today, in the last 7 days and in the last 30 days; frequency bands; average active days and sessions; linked-family context; and a coach ranking.

Use App to compare the mobile app with the coach portal. Enter an organization ID only when you want to limit the report to that organization.

The When coaches tend to use the apps graph groups recent usage by hour. Select the reporting timezone that makes sense for the question you are asking. The chosen timezone is a display conversion for the whole chart; it is not each coach's personal timezone. The chart states its exact recent raw-data window. Older daily usage remains available through daily summaries, but older hour-by-hour timestamps are deliberately not retained.

For the platform owner: filter family subscription status

Open Families in the owner portal. The family records table shows Status instead of a timezone column. Status uses the same labels as the coach records table: Active, Trialing, Past due, Canceled, Suspended and Not subscribed.

Use the Status filter to show one of those states, or choose All statuses. Search also matches the displayed status label. The existing Access and Coach filters can be combined with Status.

The separate timezone-health diagnostic remains available to the platform owner; timezone is no longer an editable family-table column.

For the platform owner: review Family Growth

Open Family Growth in the owner portal. Choose an inclusive cohort start and end date, then apply the dates. A range can cover at most 366 calendar days. The view follows families who originally registered during that UTC date range; an account that later gains another role stays with its original registration cohort.

The activation funnel shows unique families progressing through:

  • Family onboarded;
  • First baby created; and
  • First activity recorded.

The stages are sequential: an activity counts in this funnel only after a valid baby record. Later activity remains attributed to the family's registration cohort. A warning appears when some families have not yet had a full 30 days to reach later stages, so avoid comparing a very recent cohort directly with an older, more mature one.

Connected to a coach and Production direct plan started appear as separate outcomes. They are not steps families must complete in order. In particular, coach-supported families are not expected to buy a direct plan. A direct-plan start can include a trial, so it is not a first-paid or collected-revenue figure.

Family Growth does not break activation down by Where did you hear about us? answers. Combining that dimension with exact activation totals could expose small groups by comparing endpoints or nearby date ranges. Use Billing → How families heard about us for the existing privacy-protected registration-only attribution report. Family Growth never shows source rows, a family's identity, their written Other explanation or the identity of a sleep coach.

If something goes wrong

  • Purchase was cancelled: no premium access is created; you can start again later.
  • Payment completed but premium is missing: keep the app online, reopen the subscription screen and use Restore purchase if needed.
  • Store products do not load: check your connection and try again in the supported phone app.
  • Coach checkout is incomplete: use the return-to-checkout option if shown, or begin a new attempt from the coach portal.
  • Coach upgrade cannot be opened: refresh Subscription and try again. Only an eligible active Stripe plan can move through a supported longer-cadence or tier change; manual access, introductory periods and shorter-cadence changes need support. A scheduled cancellation can proceed only after the estimate warns that confirmation will reactivate renewal.
  • Coach upgrade payment is not completed: return to Subscription and refresh before trying again. Do not repeat the change until the displayed cadence and billing status show whether Stripe applied it or reported a payment issue.
  • Access unexpectedly ended: check whether the direct subscription, coach relationship or practice billing is still active.

Coach promo codes

On the coach portal subscription page, choose your plan and billing schedule, then enter a code in Promo code (optional) and choose Continue with promo code. The code is checked before Stripe opens. Review the offer, card details and automatic renewal terms in Stripe before confirming. Only one code can be used. A code replaces the normal introductory offer; clear the field to return to that offer.

TEAONCPD gives eligible new subscribers 30 free days. Nothing is charged at the start. Stripe collects a card and automatically charges the full selected monthly, six-monthly or yearly plan after 30 days unless you cancel first. It does not give six months or a year free. You can cancel from the subscription page and keep access until the free period ends.

This offer is available without waiting after registration, but only if you have not previously had a coach Stripe subscription or an owner-granted trial. It cannot be reused after cancellation or combined with the £5 introductory offer. An invalid or unavailable code shows an error instead of opening a full-price checkout. Merely opening or abandoning checkout does not use up the code.
